Butch Lumby
Risk Manager/Human Resource Manager


Butch joined Preston Pipelines in March of 2000. He came to Preston after twenty-two years in the road construction supply industry. Butch earned a Bachelors Degree from Oregon State University in 1966 and a Master's Degree from San Jose State in 1974.

As Risk Manager / Human Resource Manager, he is responsible for:
  • Managing the corporate safety plan and training programs
  • Ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal safety standards
  • Preparing and developing personnel forecasts to meet employment needs
  • Developing and maintaining an active personnel recruitment file


Rich Lewis
Vice President Field Operations/ General Superintendent


Rich has worked in the underground construction industry since 1976. Rich began his career as an operator and later worked as foreman for another underground contractor. He joined Preston in 1991 as foreman and assumed the Superintendent position in 1997. In June of 2000, Rich was elevated to General Superintendent for Preston Pipelines.  In January of 2003, Rich was elevated to Vice President of Field Operations.

As Vice President of Field Operations and General Superintendent, Rich is responsible for:
  • Overseeing the planning and coordination of dispatch for field production
  • Ensuring an effective working relationship between Operations and Dispatch for job completion
  • Support and supervision for field production and field personnel
  • Coordination with Human Resources for personnel needs


Jumbo Coffelt
Equipment Manager


Jumbo began work at Preston Pipelines in 1979 as a general laborer/pipe layer. In 1984, he began his connection with the shop when he was moved to the lube truck and also served as driver for the company. In 1986 Jumbo built the first fuel truck and has since assumed the Equipment Manager position for the shop.

As Equipment Manager, Jumbo is responsible for:
  • Equipment maintenance and repairs
  • Supervision and training of shop personnel
  • Equipment budgeting and purchasing
  • Coordination of employee training for HazMat

 

Steve Dunn
Central Valley Area Manager

Steve joined Preston Pipelines in May, 2003, after twelve years with DSS Engineering Contractors and two years with a major residential home developer in Southern California.  He received his Bachelors Degree from the University of Southern California in Business Administration in 1989.

As Central Valley Area Manager, Steve will be responsible for:

  • Establishing and developing client / owner / municipal agency relationships
  • Procuring and overseeing work in the Central Valley
  • Coordinating with Estimating to ensure customers needs are met with service, quality, and integrity
  • Coordinating job production and completion
