Past Preston Pipelines, Inc. was established in 1970 by Mr. Dee Preston. He began his operation as a one-man, one backhoe irrigation line repair service. Mr. Preston built his business on reputation and hard work. Preston Pipelines, Inc. landed more jobs because of an acquired reputation for quality and integrity. A teenaged Mike Preston joined his father during summer vacations from high school, learning the business first hand where he saw the long hours and cyclical ups and downs of his Dad's company. Because of his experiences at Preston Pipelines, Inc. and his desire to see the company turn into a corporate-style professionally run company, he agreed to take over the field management of the company in 1977. He considered it a natural thing to do since he had worked full-time during the summer vacation breaks from school. At the time, Preston Pipelines, Inc. consisted of fewer than 5 full time employees. Mike was eager to take risks and wanted to see the company grow. His strengths were the way in which he dealt with people; his conservative and ethical business approach; and, his honesty and integrity. Ownership of the company was transferred to Mike Preston in 1987. In 1989, Mr. Dee Preston officially retired from Preston Pipelines, Inc. Present Today Preston Pipelines, Inc. runs on the same principles established in 1977. Because the heavy construction industry is vastly different than it was a generation or more ago, Preston Pipelines, Inc. has become more technical, detail-oriented, and schedule driven. The company has continued to grow and has earned a reputation for quality and service that is unparalleled in the Underground Construction Industry.
