Preston Pipelines is continually looking for quality people
who want to work in the field. Here’s an overview of some of the
field positions that are available from time to time at Preston.
Foreman:
The Foreman's function is to oversee and facilitate all aspects of scheduling
and safe on-site construction. The Foreman must have first-hand knowledge
of the preparation for all aspects of each job. Involvement begins with
pre-job set up with the Superintendent and continues through job completion.
Equipment Operator:
The Equipment Operator's function is to be able to safely operate an
excavator, back hoe, compactor and loader. The operator must have good
operational skills to be able to produce high volume quality work in
a safety-conscious work environment. The operator must be able to work
with foremen and laborers to produce quality work in high volume time-sensitive
conditions.
Pipe Layers:
The Pipe Layer will work hand-in-hand with the equipment operator to
produce safe high-quality pipe installations. As a key pipe line installation
person, the Pipe Layer will be responsible for a variety of tasks including
grade checking, laser setting, pipe installation, and proper personal
protective equipment.
Laborers:
The Laborer will work hand-in-hand with the pipe layer and equipment operator
for excavation and installation of the pipeline. The laborer must be willing
to take direction and understand the importance of a safety-oriented work site.
