Established in 1970, Preston Pipelines has grown into one of the Bay Area's leading Underground Pipeline Contractors. Under the leadership of Mike Preston, Preston Pipelines has built strong client-customer relationships that have been the foundation for continual growth. PAST
Preston Pipelines Inc. was founded by Dee Preston. In the beginning, Dee operated a one-man, one-backhoe, irrigation-line repair service. He built his business by word of mouth, helped by his spotless reputation and dedication to hard work. This led to more jobs and higher visibility for the young company. As a teenager, Mike Preston joined his father, Dee, during high school summer vacations, where he learned the business first-hand – including experiencing the cyclical ups and down of the business and the long hours required for success.

Mike enjoyed the work and wanted to expand the company’s horizons. In 1977, with the company then consisting of five full-time employees, Mike agreed to assume field management responsibilities for Preston Pipelines and worked to incorporate more professional management practices into the company’s project management. Mike was eager to see the company grow. His strengths were the way he dealt with people - his conservative and ethical business approach, and his impeccable honesty and integrity. In 1987, Dee Preston transferred ownership of the company to Mike. Two years later, Dee officially retired from the company.

PRESENT
Today Preston Pipelines operates under the same principles established in 1977. Because the heavy construction industry is vastly different from the way it was a generation or more ago, Preston Pipelines has become more technical, detail-oriented and schedule-driven. The company has continued to grow and has earned a reputation for quality and service that’s unparalleled in the underground construction industry.
